Popping Your Cherry Calls for Submissions

Popping Your Cherry

Edited by Laura Morningstar

Whether you’re 16 or 60, losing your virginity is a big deal and you’re going to remember your first time.

Sex and relationship advice, whether it comes from school, your parents or your friends, is awkward at the best of times. No one wants the birds and the bees talk. It rarely answers the questions we have and focusses purely on the mechanics of sex between a man and a woman.

But what about non-binary genders? Do we really need lube? What if someone says no, but you think they mean yes? Should we be ashamed of our bodies if they don’t look like the ones on TV? What do lady bits really look like? What if your partner wants to spank you? Those are the questions we really need the answers too!

We end up with a head full of mis-information, disconnected from our sexuality and deeply lacking in the ability to express our feelings and desires, particularly when they fail to fit with the cultural norm.

In Popping Your Cherry, we’re exploring the realities of losing your virginity. We’re looking for people of all ages, sexualities, ethnicities, abilities and genders to share their personal experience of losing their virginity along with their thoughts on the subject then and now.
